She graduated from Sothern Methodist University with a degree in History in 1979. She married Richard Torrez of Dallas, TX on August 19, 1982. Sharon was a fun, caring, and loving mother and wife. She and Richard enjoyed an adventurous life taking trips to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Florida beaches and New York City, to see Marissa sing in Carnegie Hall. She instilled an early sense of curiosity in her daughters, which she nurtured by taking them to museums, parks, and libraries regularly.
